Big Data Architect

Global Fashion Group (GFG) is looking for a talented, customer focused Big Data Architect to drive the development and implementation of the Data Strategy and to deliver on architecture patterns, guidance and best practices for our regional ventures. Reporting to the Group CTO, you will partner with various leaders in Global Fashion Group to develop and execute on the data strategy. You will be also responsible for driving and developing new shared initiatives to deliver business value across our  by leveraging the pool of data we gather from more than 24 countries. In this role, you will be able to have great opportunities for developing the breadth and depth of your Data and Architecture skills.

As a Big Data Architect, you will be required to interface effectively with professionals at all levels, from business stakeholders to engineers and data scientists. You will demonstrate your excellent communication skills, strategic thinking and ability to deliver business value by leveraging Agile and Lean principles.

Singaporeans and PRs applicants are preferred.


  • Work with GFG Group CTO to define and implement the Data Strategy across the Group
  • Partner with business leaders of GFG and its entities to develop and execute the Data Strategy and planning development of shared initiatives
  • Support regional Data Science / Big Data teams through coaching, guidance and sharing of best practices
  • Provide vision and roadmap toward building an efficient an scalable architecture to deal with Data and create business value out of it by developing components and solutions such as up-sale, cross-sale or anti-churn tools but also by supporting core business function such as buying, pricing and customer support departments
  • Develop tangible prototypes and proof of concepts leveraging a data science / data engineer team


  • Bachelor or Master Degree in Computer Science / Information Technology
  • Total 6+ years of experience in a Technical Lead or Architect position
  • Strong knowledge of Big Data Technologies and broad understanding of BI
  • Effective experience with NO-SQL database (MongoDB, Cassandra, CouchBase, Redis…), Map-Reduce (Hadoop, AWS EMR, ..) and Real-time and event-driven streaming/processing (Kafka / Apache Spark, AWS Kinesis, Lamba, ..)
  • Strong business acumen, including strong problem solving skills and ability to deliver business value through technology out of an analysis of the business needs
  • Ability to deal with ambiguous situations and multi-cultural environment
  • Strong communication, coaching and presentation skills
